World of Warcraft Patch 3.0.8 News

Wrath of the Lich King News

The much anticipated Patch 3.0.8 hits live servers today (and yes we're sure this time) and with it comes a great deal of change. We have decided to concentrate our WoW news section this week on highlighting some of the changes we feel are significant.
  • Roll a DK (almost) Anywhere - With the release of 3.0.8 players will be able to roll Death Knights on any realm as long as they have a level 55 somewhere. This is a welcome change for many players on higher population realms that opens the option to go to other realms and start their DK's. Many of the old restrictions still apply but we are happy to see this one be a thing of the past.
  • New Graveyards - More than 60 new graveyards have been added to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. This will sure make it less of a haul to get back to your corpse should you die in areas affected by this.
  • Death Knight Boost - Death knights will notice a boost in the effects of their Blood Aura and Blood Presence abilities as they are returning them to their beta state. This will double the healing effects of these spells.
  • Reputation Rewards - A change has been implemented so that killing mobs required for gaining reputation with a particular faction will yield the same amount of rep. regardless of your character's level. I have to say I think this change is pretty sweet and I am excited about it for the alt I just started...I may even return to Outland to finish up some rep. grinds on my main.
  • Swimming Druids - A Druid's aquatic form is now available from the Druid Trainer at level 16. This comes as quite a relief to anyone running up another druid who has had to run the quest in the past. I did it once and it was a royal pain! The line of quests will still be available, but they are no longer a prerequisite to obtaining aquatic form.
  • More Talented Shaman - With this patch Shaman will see the arrival of a new talent called "Shamanism". This is available on the elemental tree and causes your lightning bolt and lava burst spells to gain additional bonus damage effects.
  • Feral Druid Weapons - All weapons will now have the potential to grant feral attack power based on their dps which means many new weapons will now be options for the feral druid. All druids will be able to see the feral attack power an item will grant them, but other player classes will not see this information. Since polearms can now also be trained by druids, this will open many doors for this class and broaden their weapon capabilities considerably.
  • New Paladin Ability - Paladins are getting some love here too. With 3.0.8 they now have an ability called "Hand of Reckoning" which will be available from their class trainer at level 16 and will enable them to taunt an enemy from up to 30 yards and also cause holy damage to the targeted foe.
  • "Yummy" New Food and Drink - A new recipe for "Worg Tartare" is now available for purchase with Dalaran Cooking Awards. This food will give it's consumer a hit rating and stamina bonus. If you're looking for something to wash it down with, try the new recipe called "Kungaloosh" which is available from the Washed up Mage in the sewers of Dalaran once a cook has completed the quest "The Taste Test" in Scholozar Basin this is a mana restoration drink that will also get you tipsy.
  • Hunter Nerfs - Sadly, today is the day Hunters (like me) have been dreading. With this patch two of the main attacks most hunters use are getting seriously nerfed. Steady shot will go from rewarding 20% attack power as damage to rewarding only 10%. Volley is also taking a hit in the form of a 30% reduction in damage across the board for all levels of the ability. I will try to refrain from whining too much.
  • Cool Spells Now Shareable - Mages will now be able to cast Slowfall on other players and Priests will be able to share Levitate with others.
  • Wild Growth - This is a favorite spell of any good Druid healer. With this patch they decided to plague this ability with a 6 second cooldown. This will likely impact raid healing for Druids, it will be interesting to see how much of an impact it has.
  • Enchanting - There is now a new enchanting recipe available for purchase from Vanessa Sellers in Dalaran. The recipe is for a plus to stamina on bracers.

World of Warcraft 1=60 in 20 minutes or less!

1-60 in 20 minutes video

Brian Kopp has done it in 20 minutes. I have heard of others doing it even faster! Level from 1-60 in less time it takes to get a pizza, gotta love it!

This is done by using the Recruit-a-Friend Program and you DO still have to run a character from 1-60 the normal way (with 3x xp) but with this program one could make ALOT of level 60 farmers and backups real fast :)

Recent World of Warcraft News

  • Fire Festival Begins - Players will have the chance to participate in the Fire Festival Activities from June 21st through July 5th. So enjoy these new quests, and one new boss, Lord Ahune while you can!
  • Season 4 Begins!!! - After a few weeks of players having access to the highest level gear in the game from Kil'jaeden Blizzard decided to release all the new gear that comes with Season 4! Players should be extremely excited for this new season, as the level of gear is a significant increase for PvP and PvE purposes. I know I can't wait to spend my saved arena points on some awesome new gear. However I am sad to surrender my 2,000 rating which I will have to build up again!
  • No Beta testers Yet! - Blizzard has not opened up Wrath of the Lich King for beta testers yet. So if you are receiving e-mails guaranteeing you will get into the beta they are a scam, and plan to steal your account! Be aware, and remember that Blizzard will never ask you for your account details such as your password, EVER!
  • Patch 2.4.3 available on the PTR - Blizzard has launched 2.4.3 to the PTR, so get over and transfer your characters on and start practicing the new boss Lord Ahune for the Fire Festival.
  • Magister's Terrace Nerfed -Players will find most of the trash to be significantly easier now. Most importantly the Glaive Throw stun was removed, along with reduced damage output from nearly every dangerous trash mob found inside Magister's Terrace. Some boss fights were also nerfed, Vexallus was actually brought down to what I think is on par with his place in the dungeon. The Princess Delrissa fight was also nerfed by lowering the damage of the rogue and warrior, so this fight should be cake now as they were the only dangerous ones anyway!
  • Eredar Twins Loot Increased - Now the Eredar twins will drop the increased loot no matter which order you kill them in. So happy sunmoting!!!
  • Raid Instance Summoning Bug Fixed - Players can now be summoned to a raid instance from a heroic dungeon. This will be a nice feature for those just wrapping up a daily heroic when the raid is starting.
  • Curse of Elements / Shadows Changes in 2.4.3 - Curse of Shadows has been removed and Curse of Elements now includes damage increases for Arcane and Shadow damage also. This will reduce the stigma of having to bring 3 to 4 warlocks to each and every raid!
  • Haris Pilton Bag and Jewelry Seller Extraordinaire in 2.4.3! - You have got to love Blizzard's sense of humor, and their willingness to give players what they ask for. Haris Pilton will offer players the right to buy 22 slot bags, albeit for a hefty price of 1,200 gold. This is another measure to pull gold out of the highly inflated economy, since they were not quite prepared for the huge influx of gold the daily quests would yield. I know I have 4,800 gold waiting to buy 4 of these for my druid!!! This is not a limited supply item either, so start saving right away!! They are BoE, so the really rich players can buy them for their bank alts too!

World of Warcraft Botting Crackdown

It looks like Blizzard has taken the ban hammer out and struck down as many botters as they could. Initial reports show that they did not use the usual Warden update but instead loaded some code in a recent patch to allow them to detect who was using bots and who was not.

Reading the message boards at the popular bot sites it looks like they figured out how they did it and promise to be more vigilant in future patches to look for this kind of sneakiness from Blizzard.

It does not look like this has affected most of our suppliers as we are still filling orders at a blazing rate of less than 1 hour for over 95% of the orders on GamerTex.com and its affiliates.

World of Warcraft Updates

Just some information I ran across I thought I would pass along:

  • Epic Gems Only 10 Badges - When Proudmoore reached Phase 4 of the Shattered Sun offensive, the epic gems became viewable on the Armory. For right now it looks like the cost of the epic gems has been reduced from 15 to 10 Badges. This is not confirmed on live servers, and you should wait to get overly excited until Proudmoore or another server close behind them finishes the Alchemy lab and can buy the gems.
  • Wrath of the Lich King: Alpha Testing - Blizzard began Alpha testing for the expansion this past week. Alpha testing only includes blizzard employees for the most part, and all participating members have had to sign a Non-disclosure Agreement. It is extremely doubtful we will even get a single screenshot leak from Alpha testing. We will keep you informed on beta testing, it should be coming sometime in the near future!
  • Agamath, The First Gate Now Open - Blizzard opened up the first gate inside Sunwell Plateau, this gives players access to a new boss called the Twin Eredar. Nihilum registered the world first kill earlier this week, with Premonition registering the US first kill the very next day. Congratulations to both guilds!
  • Onyxia Attunement will not be Removed - Players will have to keep killing Rend and Drakkisath for their Onyxia Attunement, Blizzard stated this week they have no intentions of changing the requirements for this Raid encounter. Many players now use this encounter as a way to make some extra gold each week, and since the quest line is such a pain they were hoping for a change to the attunement.
  • Thori'dal, the Stars Fury Preview - This is the Legendary bow that will presumably drop from Kil'jaeden in the Sunwell Plateau. It looks as if the arrows you shoot will have a glowing effect that is really cool. You can check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKbB7BrdFOE.
  • Arena Tournament Realms Bug - It seems that Blizzard forgot to allow Tauren Druids to train Cure Poison on the Tournament Realms. They also said that it will not be fixed for quite some time, if it is fixed at all. This is a slight nerf, but druids will mainly use Abolish Poison anyway in most cases. However it is nice to Abolish then Cure Poison spam to strip off poisons really fast.
  • Season 4 Rating Requirements - It was also discovered this week by looking through the Armory that Season 4 Shoulders will require a 2200 Personal rating. I have talked to a lot of the top arena players and have not found a single person who thinks this is a reasonable requirement. In fact, one player stated that he received Gladiator with a 2306 rating. Also if you look at the top 20 teams in each battlegroup for 5v5 they are barely over the 2200 rating! So Blizzard only wants the top 20 teams to get shoulders, expect this to get lowered before season 4 is released.

Face 2 Face Orders opened up to all Suppliers

mmoExchange.com has opened up Face to Face Only orders to all suppliers. This was a perk to registered users only but we have decided to open up the list for all to see in hope of getting more US suppliers to join our team!

Face to Face orders have long been thought of as the safest way to buy and sell gold. mmoExchange has worked with the sites they supply to try and move all orders towards F2F only deliveries but alot of the larger sellers do not want to make it F2F only when mail delivery has a less than 1% redelivery rate and it much more convenient for their Chinese supplier base.

We have pushed to make it an option to all of the sites we supply so the list is growing larger every day.

While we suggest ALL orders to be delivered via trade (F2F), only orders on the F2F List are required to be delivered via trade.

Guide to making thousands of Gold a day in World of Warcraft

Here is a guide that one of our suppliers has let us know about and told me I could let others know about it. This can be used for other motes besides Motes of Air as well!

Required: Engineering skill 350

First, build yourself a Zapthrottle Mote Extractor or buy it from another Engineer

Second, get Furious Gizmatic Goggles or any other of type of goggles with the "Equip: Shows the location of all nearby gas clouds on the minimap" effect on it

Finally, equip your Goggles and fly all around Zangamarsh. Ever since patch 2.3 there are so many "windy clouds" and with your mote extractor you get 3-5 motes of air from every cloud you find (your goggles shows them on the minimap AND it stacks with the herbalism or mining search effect!)

Reports of 125+ Primal Air in 9 hours have been reported as common.

The red points respawn after I have made one cycle so it is very easily repeatable for hours on end.

Gold Prices rise yet again

We have raised the buy rates on World of Warcraft Gold for the weekend to try and fill a bunch of back orders. The main problem is alot of these orders were placed before the gold rates went up so the more we raise rates the more money we lose. I am trying to work a balance with all the sites we supply so the pain will be small for everyone and the customers can still get their gold!

In the mean time...

Gold Sellers: Times are good! Be sure to stock up on CD and Burning Crusade keys!

Gold Buyers: You may have to wait until after March 1st for rates to get back down to under $50/1000g

Warcraft Gold Prices Going Up

Looks like the Chinese Lunar New Year is pressuring World of Warcraft gold prices upward again. I expect this trend to last at least 2 weeks even though the holiday will be over before well before that time.

World of Warcraft Minis

Upper Deck Entertainment today unveiled the World of Warcraft Miniatures Game at the 59th Annual Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair. The premium-quality and highly detailed pre-painted plastic miniatures will be available in hobby and retail outlets this fall and can be previewed today at WoWMinis.com.

The World of Warcraft Miniatures Game will feature intricate 3-D renditions of iconic characters from World of Warcraft. The World of Warcraft Miniatures will showcase superior artistry and industry-leading material quality, continuing UDE’s tradition of setting new market standards of excellence. To ensure its first collectible pre-painted plastic miniatures embody exceptional quality, UDE has recruited some of the industry’s most talented sculptors from all over the world, including Jacques-Alexandre Gillois (France), Juan Navarro Perez (Spain), Stefan Niehues (Germany) and Steve Saunders (USA).

“We are very excited to be entering the collectible miniatures category, and there is no better property for the hobby market than World of Warcraft,” said Justin Gary, Product Manager and Lead Game Designer for the World of Warcraft Miniatures. “We worked closely with Blizzard Entertainment to ensure that the miniatures and gameplay were true to the online experience. It is always Upper Deck’s goal to set a new standard of quality when entering a market, and we have done it again with the World of Warcraft Miniatures.”

Each premium pre-painted miniature will showcase a detailed version of an iconic World of Warcraft character and be mounted on a uniquely engineered removable base, allowing each figure to serve as both a game piece and a collectible. In the spirit of the action and adventure of the MMO, the World of Warcraft Miniatures Game will offer standalone raid and dungeon scenarios, letting players battle either individually or cooperatively against other teams of players or the game itself.

UDE will also launch a robust Organized Play structure for the new World of Warcraft® Miniatures Game, including everything from hobby and in-store tournament programs to Darkmoon Faire events and National and World Championship tournaments.
