Area:Rhunendin - LOTRO Lorebook

"When Eärnur and Glorfindel drove the hosts of Angmar from the fallen North-kingdom, they eradicated the Angmarim west of the Misty Mountains. A short time later, however, the ancestors of the Rohirrim pressed northward on the far side of the mountains and drove the remaining Angmarim back into their former realm, though they were now scattered and few. Over the long years, the remnants of Angmar began to multiply and grow strong again, and built towns and villages once more.

Rhunendin is one such town, guarding the western approach to the Witch-king’s former capital of Carn Dûm. The Angmarim remain faithful to their banished lord and serve his Steward, Mordirith, called the False King by the Hill-men who also dwell in Angmar. Rhunendin is a mighty bastion against those who would overthrow Angmar once more.

Rhunendin is a town created by the developers at Turbine for The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™. It, like most of Angmar, is only readily accessible by players who have achieved the highest levels in the game."

Face 2 Face Orders opened up to all Suppliers

mmoExchange.com has opened up Face to Face Only orders to all suppliers. This was a perk to registered users only but we have decided to open up the list for all to see in hope of getting more US suppliers to join our team!

Face to Face orders have long been thought of as the safest way to buy and sell gold. mmoExchange has worked with the sites they supply to try and move all orders towards F2F only deliveries but alot of the larger sellers do not want to make it F2F only when mail delivery has a less than 1% redelivery rate and it much more convenient for their Chinese supplier base.

We have pushed to make it an option to all of the sites we supply so the list is growing larger every day.

While we suggest ALL orders to be delivered via trade (F2F), only orders on the F2F List are required to be delivered via trade.

Tabula Rasa Weekend Update

Tabula Rasa Weekend Update

1.5 Update
As many of you have noticed, we've been handing out small patch note previews in our Feedback Friday and Weekend Wrapup articles. Unfortunately, with this advanced sneak peek comes the chance that a particular feature may not make it into the game with the next patch. Such is the case with the announcement of Safe Zones in last week's Weekend Wrapup. We are still working out several issues with this feature and hope to have it soon in an upcoming patch, but it will not be in 1.5.

Events Over The Weekend

Blind Race Event
The first ever Blind Race Event was held this Saturday on the Pegasus Server. Each two player team consisted of a coach and a 'blind' player (monitors were turned off). The teams maneuvered through Wilderness, Divide, and Plains, stopping through several checkpoints throughout the event.

2nd Place = Fuzzball coaching runner Kenley
3rd Place = Critters coaching runner Machka
4th Place = Wombat coaching runner Cappibarra

Check out this video footage of the race by Kamarov.

Guide to making thousands of Gold a day in World of Warcraft

Here is a guide that one of our suppliers has let us know about and told me I could let others know about it. This can be used for other motes besides Motes of Air as well!

Required: Engineering skill 350

First, build yourself a Zapthrottle Mote Extractor or buy it from another Engineer

Second, get Furious Gizmatic Goggles or any other of type of goggles with the "Equip: Shows the location of all nearby gas clouds on the minimap" effect on it

Finally, equip your Goggles and fly all around Zangamarsh. Ever since patch 2.3 there are so many "windy clouds" and with your mote extractor you get 3-5 motes of air from every cloud you find (your goggles shows them on the minimap AND it stacks with the herbalism or mining search effect!)

Reports of 125+ Primal Air in 9 hours have been reported as common.

The red points respawn after I have made one cycle so it is very easily repeatable for hours on end.

Gold Prices rise yet again

We have raised the buy rates on World of Warcraft Gold for the weekend to try and fill a bunch of back orders. The main problem is alot of these orders were placed before the gold rates went up so the more we raise rates the more money we lose. I am trying to work a balance with all the sites we supply so the pain will be small for everyone and the customers can still get their gold!

In the mean time...

Gold Sellers: Times are good! Be sure to stock up on CD and Burning Crusade keys!

Gold Buyers: You may have to wait until after March 1st for rates to get back down to under $50/1000g

The Road to v1.1: Ship Combat Accuracy Improvements

Version 1.1 has been published to our Testbed server and will be coming to the live servers next week. There’s a ship tuning change in this patch that’s significant enough to receive its own devlog.

Recently, it’s become apparent that there’s a problem in the cannon accuracy settings. The numbers are off by small amounts in several areas. Once they’re all added together, the compounding numbers make it so that many small and medium ships will win a straight up broadside exchange against large ships at close-medium range. While it’s important for small ships to be valuable, your first double-decker warship should not lose to a small ship in a close-range slugfest. We’re making numerous changes to accuracy values to help address this issue.

Here’s a list of the main changes:

-Added a small amount (1-4) of target tracking to the smaller guns. (Target tracking reduces the penalties caused by the relative motion of you and your target.)
-Added +2 accuracy to all guns when at maximum range.
-Added a small amount (1-2) of mid range accuracy to mid-heavy guns.
-Reduced small/medium ship defense by 4.
-Added +2 damage resistance to large, huge and colossal ships.
-Made small adjustments to target tracking, mainly on the mid to upper range ships. Most noticable on the Raa.
-Slightly reduced the relative motion accuracy penalty.
-Slightly extended out the range at which we start applying relative motion penalties.
-Decreased the defense of the MC La Belle. It was receiving its defense bonus plus the defense bonus of the regular La Belle. But even with this correction, it’s still the highest-defense ship in the game.
-Reduced the DR of some ships (such as the Cruizer) that were set too high due to having their size reduced recently
-Increased the defense for third rate and above line ships (they are still very easy to hit)
-Slightly increased the defense for some mid-range and high-end ships.

We still want small and medium ships to be harder to hit, and they’re particularly good in combination with defense buffs. They should be effective in PvP, but they should have to be cautious when theyre close to bigger ships. Upgrading to a typical large ship, like the Stralsund, should feel like you’re in a sturdier ship. This change isnt only about small ships beating large ships at close range. It also impacts fights with small vs small ships by improving their overall accuracy against each other.

This is the kind of change that will require a lot of testing, so be sure to hop on testbed and give us your feedback. Is it too much? Not enough? We’re prepared to make adjustments as necessary, so let us know what you think and stay tuned

Warcraft Gold Prices Going Up

Looks like the Chinese Lunar New Year is pressuring World of Warcraft gold prices upward again. I expect this trend to last at least 2 weeks even though the holiday will be over before well before that time.

Steam Reaches 15 Million Accounts

Leading Platform for PC Games Building Phenomenal Annual Growth

February 7, 2008 - Valve® today announced that Steam®, a leading platform for PC games and digital entertainment, has surpassed 15 million accounts and realized year-over-year sales growth of 158% through the holiday season. The year also marked the debut of the Steam Community and launch of several best-selling and critically-acclaimed titles such as Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and The Orange Box. Throughout 2008 more Community features will be introduced to support existing games as well as new titles such as Valve's Left 4 Dead.

Also new for Steam in 2008 is Steamworks, giving game developers access to game features and services available on Steam ranging from product key authentication and copy protection to auto-updating, social networking and matchmaking. Most importantly, the game features and services available in Steamworks are free of charge and can be used for both electronic and tangible versions of games.

'PC gaming is thriving, and has evolved into an era of constant connectivity,' said Gabe Newell, president of Valve. 'That connectivity gives us the ability to have a much better relationship with customers, not just for delivering our games, but across all aspects of our business - including the design, development, and support of our games. Features like Guest Passes, Free Weekends, Gifting, and the Steam Community have been very well received both by customers and the developers who are using Steam. We are accelerating our release of new functionality in the next year as well as finding new ways to work with our partners such as the release of Steamworks, which allows them to bring the many benefits of Steam to their packaged products."

World of Warcraft Minis

Upper Deck Entertainment today unveiled the World of Warcraft Miniatures Game at the 59th Annual Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair. The premium-quality and highly detailed pre-painted plastic miniatures will be available in hobby and retail outlets this fall and can be previewed today at WoWMinis.com.

The World of Warcraft Miniatures Game will feature intricate 3-D renditions of iconic characters from World of Warcraft. The World of Warcraft Miniatures will showcase superior artistry and industry-leading material quality, continuing UDE’s tradition of setting new market standards of excellence. To ensure its first collectible pre-painted plastic miniatures embody exceptional quality, UDE has recruited some of the industry’s most talented sculptors from all over the world, including Jacques-Alexandre Gillois (France), Juan Navarro Perez (Spain), Stefan Niehues (Germany) and Steve Saunders (USA).

“We are very excited to be entering the collectible miniatures category, and there is no better property for the hobby market than World of Warcraft,” said Justin Gary, Product Manager and Lead Game Designer for the World of Warcraft Miniatures. “We worked closely with Blizzard Entertainment to ensure that the miniatures and gameplay were true to the online experience. It is always Upper Deck’s goal to set a new standard of quality when entering a market, and we have done it again with the World of Warcraft Miniatures.”

Each premium pre-painted miniature will showcase a detailed version of an iconic World of Warcraft character and be mounted on a uniquely engineered removable base, allowing each figure to serve as both a game piece and a collectible. In the spirit of the action and adventure of the MMO, the World of Warcraft Miniatures Game will offer standalone raid and dungeon scenarios, letting players battle either individually or cooperatively against other teams of players or the game itself.

UDE will also launch a robust Organized Play structure for the new World of Warcraft® Miniatures Game, including everything from hobby and in-store tournament programs to Darkmoon Faire events and National and World Championship tournaments.

Don't worry America your nipples are safe with us.

So ever since we initially announced that we would have different versions of the game that would censor different things based on the regions ratings boards we were getting flack about it. Now it isn't that we wanted to censor anything we just felt that we had to, the versions we were showing the ratings boards had no censorship whatsoever, but we demonstrated the technology we could use to censor to them also.

I caught this yesterday

http://gucomics.com/comic/?cdate=20080206

and thought it very appropriate and that this was something those of you who haven't heard about would be interested in knowing.

We have indeed confirmation of the fact we can retain the nipples in the nudity in the American version.

P.S. sorry for being a bit quieter I am currently sick. Looking forward to getting that Beta diary started

Pirates of the Burning Sea - European Connectivity Issues

European Connectivity Issues

Our European support team has noticed a number of reports from United Kingdom residents having trouble accessing the game. After investigation, it turns out that their Internet Service Provider, Blueyonder, is currently experiencing issues that prevent them from connecting to the launcher.

Unfortunately, these issues are beyond our control. However, if you have trouble connecting, if you live in the United Kingdom and if Blueyonder is your ISP, then your issue is most likely related.

As always, additional questions or concerns can be filed via support ticket at www.burningsea.com/support, and we’ll keep you updated as we know more.

What trees of abilities can you respec and how do you go about doing it and when? Such a question's been asked this week in the forums, do you have any sure-fire way to rebuild?
